Hi, I'm Sierra from dreamBIG4kids. I'm a teenager trying to start a non-profit organization that gives hope to foster kids. DreamBIG4kids makes first night kits that will help comfort foster kids when they're transitioning to a new home.
The money you donate will help buy: toothbrushes, flashlights, stuffed animals, books, sweet dreams packets and bags. The flashlight is to light up the darkness, the stuffed animal is so that you are never alone, the toothbrush is to help you find your smile when things are tough, the goodnight story is to remind you that you are loved and the sweet dreams packet is to put under your pillow so that you'll have good dreams. We hope these items will bring comfort to children who are feeling alone and afraid in a new home surrounded by strangers. Making goodnight kits for kids will be an on-going process so you can donate anytime!
This organization means so much to me because my family went through the adoption process for four years as we adopted three children from the foster care system. We got to know what happens when you're a foster kid and how scary transitions can be when you're removed from your family and all that is familiar. I want to help make it better for those who are going through such a difficult time in their lives.
