Hi. My name is Astrid and I am 11 years old. Two years ago, I raised £1350 for The Doorstep Homeless Families Project, I bought and wrapped Christmas presents for the children and their mums at the shelter. It was a great success.
This year, because of various reasons (and the economic climate in the Uk), there are 127 children at the temporary accommodation center. I want to take their minds off of their family troubles and make sure everyone gets a gift to open on Christmas Day.
My goal is to raise £2000 for their gifts, which totals to £15 per child. I think that having a gift to open at Christmas really makes a difference to any child. The excitement for the day when you can unwrap the surprise gift is wonderful.
Christmas is all about giving and being kind to others. It isn't fair that children have to live in hostels due to the threat of violence or other family issues. Please help me in bringing just a little bit more brightness into there lives.
