KIT The Bus

We are KIT to Happiness. A family of 3 starting a new adventure. (K)eoni is a skateboarder, dancer and drummer, (I)rina is an actress, theatre director, singer/songwriter and (T)im is a painter and Illustrator. We used to live in Jersey City, NJ right across the river from Manhattan. We have always loved nature. We realize how much easier it is to breathe outside of the city and how we are better able to relax. For a few years in a row we went on vacation discovering alternative lifestyles, staying in tiny houses, huts, tree houses and vehicles. The simplicity of life in nature and with a few possessions started creating visions in our heads. 

This project was a hazy dream in the distance, something that we thought we would do one day but then came March 2020 and our lives took a sharp turn. We both lost our jobs and suddenly our dreams of simpler life became a reality and a necessity. We had to give up our now pricey apartment, shrink our possessions and get away from the city. Luckily, we had already bought a school bus (called KIT the bus) the year before with an intention of building it up to call it home and travel the world. So, not seeing a better alternative we headed out of the city, into an off the grid tiny house with our bus by our side. KIT the bus is our very first alternative project and a major stepping stone on the road to freedom and creating a more sustainable future for our family.

Our main goal for the moment is to finish our bus build by the end of winter so we can start traveling. We are working with a small business of dreamers (like ourselves) that specializes in tiny living design (for tiny house and bus projects) and are trying hard to keep such services affordable. Alas, so many parts of building off the grid homes on wheels are pricey (especially electrical, plumbing and heating) and we are seeking your support to raise $7500 in order for us to design and install these systems inside our KIT.
