Kisses Has Cancer... Please Help

Today we found out that Kisses has one of 3 types of cancer in her right elbow, and none of them have a good prognosis. After a vet visit today which we thought would show a fracture or minor injury to her right paw after landing on it wrong, we were informed of this.
Kisses had a dew claw that had overgrown so badly that when we rescued it her it had grown into her paw pad. She was limping, which made sense, and it was removed a day after we rescued her and she was still sore. But come to find out, she is also limping due to this pain.
Imaging shows that this has not spread to her lungs, and we have a choice to either care for it as it grows, and face the inevitable, or amputate from the shoulder down and hope that it truly hasn't spread to her lungs, because apparently initial spread is not always detectable.
We rescued her in October, with the plan being for her to be our sons childhood dog growing up. That may now not be the case, but we are hoping to be able to take care of this before it absolutely spreads and there is no chance at all of any duration of good life. Unfortunately, that cost is quite high, and we have been quoted $2400 for the surgery. This would wipe us out completely, leaving nothing left, and leaving us tight on utilities, food, heat, and rent. Especially now, with only one of us working so that the other can stay home and take care of our son who is immune suppressed, and cannot risk getting COVID-19.
Any help or sharing is appreciated, and I know folks have been generous before and this is asking a lot at this time, but we are really hoping to give this pup a chance, and to have our son be able to keep the pup he was meant to grow up with .
