Dear Friends, Family, those we know, and those we haven't yet met,
Allow us to announce a GoFundMe Campaign that we're running in conjunction with the "Kiss My ALS" Community Garage Sale Fundraiser, in support of our friend, Maureen Stemmelen.
Maureen and I first met when she moved to our area when our kids were in 2nd grade together. Quoting from Kim Patullo, another mutual friend who sums it up for many of us, "Maureen became a close friend of mine, and I became one of many in her vast friend fan base. She is a warm, caring, joyful woman, wife and mother. She has a unique ability to support those around her with grace and happiness; there is no wonder that she has so many true friends, more than I’ve ever seen another woman possess."
Maureen has always been a loyal and an enterprising fundraiser for the causes that are dear to her. It's time for each of us to channel our own "inner Maureen" and support her in return. Please like and share this post to spread the word.

Maureen was diagnosed two years ago with ALS -Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and she continues her brave fight with this devastating neuromuscular disease.
According to the ALS Association website, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is:
“A progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord…the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost…once ALS starts, it almost always progresses, eventually taking away the ability to walk, dress, write, speak, swallow, and breathe…”
