I feel like it’s time to share my story.

2 weeks ago, I went to the ER for being too dehydrated and sick from our pregnancy (yes, we are about 10 weeks pregnant ) Feels like an afterthought, but it adds such an important part.

They (mis)diagnosed me with HG (a serious, case of “morning” sickness). I could not keep solid food down & was extremely dizzy among other things. I was throwing up literally every hour before my mom carried me to the car & drove me to the first hospital. I literally couldn’t walk on my own. As I’m sure you’ve seen me talk about, I’ve had a headache about a month by now that wasn’t going away.

Last Saturday, in the hospital, I crashed, que all the needle marks and bruises on my arms. I actually told my mom & husband, “I don’t wanna die tonight, I need a CT scan or something” I knew something was wrong and I wasn’t just sick.

On Sunday, my migraine was worse. I couldn't walk, didn't want to move let alone see sunlight or loud noises. Que me not remembering from here on out.

On Monday I was seen by a Neurologist, and an OB and they took me for a scan. They transferred me by ambulance to the other hospital and showed my fam the results— I had a tumor in my cerebellum that needed removal (brain surgery). A drain was made in my head after they shaved some of it. Apparently I knew my name and where I was but I had no idea the year or the president.

Last Tuesday I went in for brain surgery and the mass was removed and is still being identified, but hours after it was gone I was finally hungry for the first time in a week & able to have conversation. I was told my baby could be effected from the multiple scans, but I am here, baby’s heart is beating & nothing is worrisome so far.

I didn’t cover everything & the experience does not feel real. This lil baby is a sign that everything is going to be okay

So here I am, after brain surgery, thinking just how important it is to share my journey.. not because it’s a crazy ass story that’s now mine forever.. but because it’s an important reminder to advocate for yourself

I’ll be creating a gofundme soon if you want to help with hospital bills or my PayPal/Venmo links are in my bio too.
