Help Raise Funds For Funding Kirsty's Promise

Hi my name is Alex I'm 31 years old and have just received the news no one ever wants to hear,

A bit about my story,

Me and my partner kirsty who have been together for 9 years got engaged in 2019 in walt disney world in florida it was an incredible year and since then things have started to take a turn,

At the end of 2019 my fiancé fell pregnant and 9 months later we had a beautiful little boy named Thomas who was born.

We was in and out of hospital with him in the 1st few months as he was always ill and they found out he has a lower immune system than most of us.

Things started off great and we was loving home life and starting to build our family life watching our boy eat for the 1st time, crawling then taking his 1st steps.

Kirsty suffers from a condition known as neurofibromatosis which mainly is Benign tumors on the inside of her body,

In 2021 kirsty was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer.

She 1st visited a hospital who originally told her there's nothing to worry about as they did not believe the lump was cancerous at this time the size of the lump was a golfball around the under arm area.

4 months later it was the size of a rugby ball and kirsty was in alot of pain which after a biopsy and several tests was told that it was a cancerous tumor.

Luckily it was caught in time for the cancer to be removed she had a major operation and her muscle had to be removed from her arm which was successful although this did leave her with no muscle in her arm kirsty carried on and within a few months after rounds of radiotherapy and care she was back working and we was loving family life again just after numerous lockdowns we was out and about exploring and visiting the theme parks with our son as we are both theme park enthusiasts and just generally enjoying our days out.

About a month ago kirsty had hurt her back after lifting something heavy yes she was naughty and does not take no for an answer but that's the type of woman she is she just carrys on with life regardless of her ability to lift and move her arm and she just cracks on with things.

She was in pain and discomfort after hurting her back so I took her to see an osteopath so we could get it sorted for her,

They done a great job and her back seemed to be fine,

Then the pain returned and seemed to be worse about a week later and I could see that kirstys appetite was changing now this was unusual for a woman who adores her food.

Kirsty was due her regular checkup in a weeks time at the hospital so we just thought nothing of it but we knew someone was not right.

We all went as a family for the day out had lunch up town and visited the only remaining disneystore in the UK as she is a huge disney fan and we both love disney and theme parks.

We went for the checkup and kirsty had a X-ray we waited around for about an hour then was called into the consultation room.

The doctors then gave us the horrible news that they had found a shadow from the X-ray on the top of kirstys lung.

Kirsty is only 28 years old does not drink or smoke and generally a healthy person.

Kirsty was sent for a CT Scan 2 days later so we could assess what the shadow was and what we are dealing with.

A week later we all have received the news about her condition and why she is in so much pain,

The cancer has returned to the top of her lung and there is a tumor which is 9cm big at the time of writing.

Kirsty has been told that the cancer is incurable and statistically has 12 to 18 months to live and will need to start chemotherapy to prolong and shrink the tumor which has grown,

It is Thomas's 2nd birthday this weekend and we should be celebrating my birthday is 2 days after Thomas's and we had booked to go to paultons park pepper pig World next week and enjoy another family time away.

Unfortunately that is now not the case and kirsty needs to start chemotherapy,

The original plan was for us to take Thomas to disneyland paris for his 2nd birthday but because of costs and trying to save to get our own house and uncertainty we decided to delay it.

We both work myself full time and kirsty part time.

We don't earn loads of money but enough to get us by day to day,

Over the past 9 years we have been together we have travelled and made some amazing memories,

Kirsty has said she wants to take Thomas to disneyland paris and see his reaction for the 1st time.

I am looking to go one better for her,

I have always wanted to give her the wedding of her dreams and with the situation we are in I may not have enough time to save that amount of money,

We do not know how long kirsty will be around but I am looking to give her 1 major memory she will not forget,

At the age of 28 and having a small child no person should ever have to go through what we are experiencing,

It's scary to think Thomas may grow up without a mum or knowing who his mum was,

I am looking to raise enough to get kirsty and thomas to disneyland but also to give her the wedding of her dreams and for her to get married there,

She does not ask for much we don't want to be rich or live in a massive house we just want to live a normal family life and make precious memories together,

Kirsty is an incredibly strong woman with the kindest soul and does not wish harm to anybody she is an inspiration and I am proud to call her my fiancé and be the mother of our beautiful little boy I know she will do all she can to fight this dreaded disease,

Please help donate anything you can I know times are extremely difficult for us all but I would love to give kirsty the wedding of her dreams the day she deserves and for her to visit disneyland paris with Thomas for the 1st time,

We never ask for anything but at a time like this I am asking for a bit of help,

You never know what's around the corner one minute you are enjoying life the next your world can be turn upside down so please live life to the full as it is precious and not in a million years did I think anything like this could happen to us but the reality is this happens to the best of us,

Thank you for listening to our story and please help me give kirsty the day she will never forget xxx
