<div>As you all may or may not be aware, I have been selected to represent England at the Indoor Cricket World Cup in Colombo, Sri Lanka in September 2024.

<div>After thinking my competitive career was starting to come to an end after heart surgery at age 21 and then a serious knee injury requiring surgery in August 2021, never did I think I would get a chance like this again.

<div>I currently play hardball cricket in my local men’s 1st XI and captain the local ladies hardball team. 

</div>

<div>Having never played much competitive indoor cricket I decided to try my hand at it and attended the Masters (over 30s - yes I am now officially old!) trials. I was successful and have been selected for the squad to travel and play for my country in Sri Lanka.

<div>The tournament will see England competing against some of the best teams in the world including Sri Lanka, Australia, South Africa and the UAE. 

</div>

<div>As Indoor cricket is an amateur sport, each player has to fund the trip themselves and the whole trip is going to cost in excess of £2500. 

</div>

<div>This amount includes flights, accommodation, transport to and from the airport/hotel/venue, training/match kit and equipment, team doctor and physio, managers, coaches, and tournament entry fees.
