Kirsten’s Singathon

Donation protected
Kirsten attended our nursery at the age of 3 and has flourished into a beautiful and inspirational young lady throughout her time at Pinders Primary. Her story has touched the hearts of the staff who have worked closely with her and we would like to raise as much as we can to support her journey... Kirsten loves to sing and has many happy memories singing with her friends in our school choir. We would like to show our support with both children and staff taking part in a singathon on Friday 27th September, starting at 9am until 4pm. Our school will be filled with the sound of singing all day long.

Kirsten is a happy, bright and bubbly 11 year old girl who had just started her first year in high school this September. She lives with her Mum Liza who works at Pinderfields hospital as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner and her brother Sean who has just finished high school.
In June of 2019 Kirsten started with blurry vision in her left eye which then progressed onto double vision in both eyes . She then started with a constant headache associated with vomiting. Liza, her mum took her to the GP many times as well as the opticians who said they were tension headaches as a result of her visual problems.
Due to Kirsten's health not improving Liza was becoming increasingly worried about her daughters condition and asked a friend who works in the Ophthalmology department if they could arrange an appointment for her to be seen by a specialist. The GP had organised an appointment but for November... Upon seeing the Ophthalmologist they requested an urgent MRI scan which was performed the following day.
The MRI results showed that Kirsten has a large cancerous tumour on her brain stem as well as fluid on her brain.  She was sent to Leeds General Infirmary where she had biopsies and is planned for radiotherapy to help reduce her symptoms; there is nothing that can be done about the tumour due to it being attached to her brain stem.
Kirsten's condition is palliative and people diagnosed with this tumour have less than a 1% survival rate. She is now losing balance and losing her hearing.
Liza and her brother Sean wish to make the next few months as happy as possible for Kirsten and are asking for help to raise funds to do as much as possible with her. Kirsten's wish is to go the Philippines to see her family.
Any donations for this sweet girl will be greatly appreciated as it will help fulfil her wishes as well as support the family through this heart breaking time.
