Kirk's Medical & Recovery Fund

November 3rd, 2017 is a day we will not soon forget. It's the day a 300 lb. cement cylinder fell on Kirk off a lift gate on his work truck. It broke his pelvis in 4 places, fractured his hip, and ruptured his bladder. So far he has been at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for 2 weeks and will remain here through Thanksgiving and probably into December.
Kirk's accident was horrible, however we still consider ourselves very lucky as it could have been a lot worse. He is expected to make a full recovery, although it will be very long and difficult. Doctor's expect him to be in a wheel chair for 10-12 weeks as he can't put any weight on his pelvis. Once they clear him to begin, he will have intense physical therapy to regain his strength and movement. The goal is for him to be running and playing with Gage by this time next year. Hopefully sooner.
Since this accident happened at work it will be covered by workmans comp. They will cover 2/3rd of Kirks income after the first 2 weeks. I have never dealt with this severe of an injury but I have been told by many that they will not cover everything and we will have extra expenses. As most of our family and many friends are out of state, some have requested we set up this fund so they can help us cover these extra costs.
Kirk and I have alwasy done everything ourselves. We mow our own lawn, wash our cars, clean our house, walk our dogs, etc. We enjoy doing these things ourselves, however now that he is not home to help me, I'm finding it difficult to keep up. I may need to hire some services as needed. Recommendations are welcome.

* Lawn service
* Car wash service
* House celaning as needed
* Possible dog boarding
I know it has only been 2 weeks, but without his income we are already dipping into our savings. Any money raised will be used for these medical expenses and services throughout Kirk's recovery.
While finanical help is extrememly appreciated, what means more is all the positive thoughts and prayers that have come our way. We have received so much support, from everyone, we are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. We love and appreciate you all more than you know.
