K.I.P for Papa Allen

Donation protected

Aloha friends and family of Allen Pascual! First off, I would like to thank you all for taking the time to visit our page, KIP KIP (Papa Allen). This page is dedicated to the recovery of Allen's mother and is intended to help bring awareness to Allen's current situation and hopefully gain support in whatever way possible.

At the beginning of 2017, Allen was faced with an unfortunate event that caught him and his family by surprise. His mother, Tina Pascual, suffered from a brain aneurysm rupture where she was admitted to Kaiser Permanente Moanalua. A slew of professionals were able to advise Allen and his family about the issue and were able to come up with a procedure that would help relieve the pressure in her brain and to start her on her road to recovery. Since then, she has had to relearn and retrain her body to do normal things that we can easily take for granted such as speaking, swallowing, and walking. Another side effect from the aneurysm was the introduction of mild tremors that makes it even more difficult for her to gain her balance and affects her coordination with her hands and legs.

It has been a slow process, but through the help of many doctors, family, and prayers, Aunty Tina has begun her path to recovery. However, financially, it has been a test of patience and trust. As mentioned before, she was admitted into Kaiser and received treatment there, but they are not Kaiser insurance holders. Aunty Tina is an HSMA member and in situations like this, there is no guarantee for equivalent medical insurance coverage. The medical bills have begun to arrive and now with Allen being the main source of income for his family, this falls now on him.

From Kaiser, they were able to increase her recovery to Pearl City Nursing Home where she was going through Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy. Aunty Tina was there until August when she used up her available days that insurance could cover. She has since been at home under the care of Allen, along with help from his family and relatives."

Allen has had to make adjustments in his life becoming her primary caregiver, by reducing his time at his current job to help tend to the needs of his mother whether if it be to take her to multiple monthly doctor appointments or to just be home with Aunty due to the lack of available relatives to help. Allen has also had to make contributions of his own to offset the financial responsibilities with medication, a hospital bed, nutritional supplements, and other required supplies to help aide Aunt Tina with her recovery.
FROM ALLEN (READ BELOW)

On behalf of myself and my mother, we've been so blessed to make it this far through this situation. We're not doing it alone and I can honestly say that without the daily positive comments and support from friends and family such as yourselves, it would've been an even more difficult time. God has been watching over us and has been granting us mini miracles from time to time. As the bible states, "By His stripes, you are healed." and I trust that God is using my mother's story to further give hope to those who dwell in the dark.

Everyone knows me as Mr. Positive where ever I go, and I have not changed my demeanor in life. With every struggle in my life, I answer back with an equivalent amount of positivity. This is no different.

Thank you all again for your support and for hearing my story. This is just one side of the story, my mom holds the other and when she is healed, she'll be there to share it. God bless and please continue to keep her in your prayers.
