Kinsley's Journey

On September 20th 2017, 3 months from our due date I was admitted into the hospital for severe preeclampsia. Around 11pm we received the news no parent wants to hear that we would be delivering our baby girl within the next 24-48 hours at 26weeks! Overwhelmed with emotions and fear we had no option at this point it was life threatening for not only myself but for our Kinsley. The next day was a waiting game as doctors monitored my levels all day an took all precautions to ensure I would not seize. Thursday evening came an we were told that 7:30am on September 22nd was our scheduled OR time an that was final. Friday morning after 2 days of no sleep crept up on us and our parents arrived, as I was being prepped reality set in and then the time for goodbyes came. Never having surgery before I was a nervous wreck on top of delivering our baby girl 14 weeks early. Friday September 22nd 2017 @ 8:09am Kinsley Ann was born weighing 1lb 6oz. As my husband an I only caught a brief glimpse of our baby girl the NICU team in place an ready to work our life truly flashed before us she is beautiful is all we could say. My husband followed her to the NICU where care began immediately. Kinsley faces a long road ahead of her as do we. Being early things were not fully prepared time accrued at work for leave extra money saved up and now being faced with extensive medical bills. We have been blessed with the outpour of love and support from family and friends and have chosen to reach out for additional help. Any little bit will help!
