Kinito's Kite Surf Instructor Exam

Donation protected
Most of you know that I have a house in the Dominican Republic and that I'm learning to kite surf. I've met the most incredible young kids through this experience. Hard working, smart, sweet teenage boys who come from poverty and just need a chance to find a way out. We all have such wonderful lives and can offer our own kids the kind of love and guidance that will take them forward in their lives.

For these kids, there is Leif Leriche. A French kite master who takes these kids under his wing, keeps them in school, keeps them out of trouble, and trys to guide them towards what life could be.

The oldest boy is Kinito. He is 21. He has been working with Leif for about 6 years. He's stayed focused and dedicated in his work and has been unbeliveable patient with me through all of my lessons. He is a seriously talented kite surfer. He is starting to compete and Lief believes he could be amoungst the top in the world.

But, he needs to be prepared to work to support himself. He is now ready to take the exam to be a certified IKO instructor. This would allow him to work anywhere in the world and keep his students safe while they learn and have a great time. He will also need English lessons to really be able to fulfill his potential.

It's my goal to try to help Kinito become the wonderful man I know he can be and to take him (and his future family - when he has one) out of poverty and onto a better life.

Won't you join me in this wonderful project and make a HUGE difference in the life of someone who would otherwise have very little opportunity.
