Kingsley Rynn Born Too Soon

Dear Friends and Friends we have not met yet....it is so exciting to hear the news "You are going to be a Mema again!" to only have my precious granddaughter Kingsley Rynn arrive way too soon. We prayed things would turn around and we prayed for the experts who were going to handle the care of my daughter Windsor and baby. On the day Kingsley hit the beginning of her 25th week of gestation  (March 8, 2019) my daughter had already packed her bags to begin the remainder of her pregnancy on bedrest in the hospital, but ultrasounds revealed the need for an urgent section to deliver baby and to continue her growth outside.  As prior ultrasounds had shown she was smaller than she should be on typical growth. The placenta was not infusing to baby and the umbilical cord blood was running in reverse.  An ultrasound before this revealed two small benign tumors, both discovered in the ventricles of the heart for a possible tuberous sclerosis rhabdomyoma diagnosis for her lifetime.  The world stopped for us at that moment but our thankfulness to God and the experts for intervening and saving this precious baby was more than the words we could find to express our sincerest gratitude. Kingsley remains in the NICU with the best care she could ever receive. As it will be a roller coaster ride until she becomes her term size on June 21st, 2019 we are all holding each other in love and support to help her get there.
 But that is not all....let me rewind by a few months. In September of 2018,  Hurricane Florence came through our community of New Bern, NC.  As we escaped the wrath of it, we came home to devastation in our town, and later then watched as the excavator ripped down Windsor and Patrick's  home to an empty plot of land. The words "I am pregnant" gave life to the storm that peeled our hearts out for the community and our loved ones and destroyed homes.  Something positive from the wrath of Florence, something wonderful and delightful! The best gift of all, a baby. Since the storm, Windsor and Patrick have been searching for a mobile home to relocate to the property, but it is difficult to find a pre-owned home of decent stature as residents grabbed them up quickly. We are all searching to help find a mobile home to be set up before Kingsley's discharge in June.  With her very early unexpected arrival and the need for her mother to be with her, Windsor is unable to return to work to contribute financially and the family has limited resources to assist with this also.
The situation is urgent to pull a home into place and then be able to meet the needs of Kingsley in late June upon return to home.  Windsor and Patrick live an hour from the hospital and while Windsor remains at the Ronald McDonald home close to the hospital (what a blessing this is for her) Patrick drives an hour each way to be with her and Kingsley after work when he can and on the weekends is able to stay over. Patrick also has a 6 year old daughter, Paisley, who Windsor stepped in to be her mom when she was only  4 months old when she came into Patrick and Paisley's lives. She loves and raised  her unconditionally as her own daughter and wouldn't have it any other way.  Paisley has always called Windsor mom-and Windsor was in high school and 17 at the time she took on this role of love to this child.  
Considering gas expenditures, costs of baby returning home, costs incurred now, a needed home for the family due to storm displacement, and maintaining their  family while Windsor recovers and remains out of work to take care of the needs of Kingsley. 
Windsor started helping others when she was young-opening doors  for the elderly, handicapped, or any other with their hands full. She would leave her table in a restaurant to open the door.  In Junior High, she and her best friend would rise early on Saturday's  and help at the local church food bank building grocery boxes and helping the elderly to their vehicles with their boxes. In high school, she became the girlfriend of Patrick and unconditionally became mother to Paisley whom she has raised beautifully. To this day, she has continued to be that individual as her father was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and she arranged all appointments, organized drivers, was there for him, speaking with specialists and helping him meet schedules as well in between her work and family schedule. 
At 23 she has grown into a gracious adult and we do know that God doesn't give you more than you can handle. This event has come to her and her family for reasons we may not know now, but may present itself later. Right now, we all take it day by day, knowing we are the lucky ones with a beautiful precious baby who needs us more than ever. 
What does the 25 week gestational neonate do when they hear their mother and father's voice and feel their touch?
