Medical Supplies to Liberia

Donation protected
The Kingdom Care serve the villages in Liberia, West Africa.   Once supplies are collected by donors they still need shipment to the clinic.  Shipping containers can be acquired at a discounted cost but the cost is still astronomical.

The Women's Council of the Mission Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Somerville, MA has helped coordinate the latest collection and shipping efforts.  We have visited the medical center in Liberia and seen the incredible work this small dedicated staff has done.
Please help support the latest shipment which will aid in immunization vaccinations, prenatal care, immunizations for children, general medical care, and so much more.   Read more about the KCMC below.

KINGDOM CARE MEDICAL CENTER HISTORY

VISION

The vision of the Kingdom Care Medical Center is to provide high quality health care services to the people of Liberia in an affordable, dignified and sustainable way.

MISSION

The mission of the Kingdom Care Medical Center is to bridge the existing gaps in the medical sector of Liberia by establishing a medical center that goes beyond Monrovia and reach a wide range of rural dwellers with the aim of impacting their lives and increasing their abilities to enjoy a healthy and fruitful life in fulfillment of their God-given right.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF KCMC
Kingdom Care Medical Center was established on March 4, 2009 by Dr. Martha N. Zarway as a partial fulfillment of her lifelong passion to provide high quality healthcare and medical services to the Liberian people regardless of socioeconomic status. Consequence of the poor health infrastructures in Liberia couple with inadequate  and mere neglect of patients by most public health providers; the concept to develop a reputable healthcare facility and outreach program to the rural communities of Liberia was developed. The disrespect of patient  and insensitivity to their psychological needs by health workers across Liberia has an impact on the rate at which patients recover from ailments and diseases. It is a bridge of the medical ethical code by health workers who ignore the rights of patients and their obligations to their patients. Driven by compassion and the desire to make a difference, the decision to provide  curative services for the sick and endeavor to raise the standard by establishing a patient-centered medical facility and seek to institutionalize the "patient comes first" ideology in the local health system was launched.

For nine years, KCMC has been providing affordable healthcare services to diverse groups of Liberians.

Currently, KCMC has a team of 34 staff that provides treatment in the areas of emergency, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, general medicine, general surgeries, laboratory, medication, midwifery training and counseling, among others.

With support from Chevron Liberia (two years) and NOCAL (three years), the burden to expand operations to impact more lives was the main driver to developing medical outreaches that transcend the regular functions of a typical clinic. KCMC outreaches provided services especially during the times when the EVD was heightened and most medical practitioners were compelled to reduce their interactions with sick people.
A significant number of the beneficiaries of the rural outreach (KINGDOM CARE MOBILE CLINIC) were treated free of charge and given additional medical attention at no cost if the case required referral to KCMC main medical facilities in Monrovia. The minimal registration cost of $0.25 is the only cost paid by rural dwellers to access the services including surgeries, laboratory, medications, and providing training (sterile techniques) and supplies for traditional midwives with emphasis on children 0 - 12 years and pregnant women.

Over the past three years KCMC has executed eight outreach programs in rural Liberia and targeted six counties. A total of 12,385 patients were attended to with helminthiasis of 43% and followed by malaria consisting approximately 42% urinary tract infection and pregnant women were the two next highest patients seen by our team. A grand total of 15,705 cases were treated.
