<div><strong>KING LEAR IS DEAD</strong> is an innovative reworking of Shakespeare's masterpiece, made by some lovely exciting young people! We've had a fabulous time working on our hometown Brighton Fringe run, and have secured the fantastic opportunity to go to Camden Fringe this August, as part of <strong>the Old Red Lion's inaugural Shakefest</strong>. All looking good so far...

<div>...HOWEVER, the problem we've reached is that<strong> travel really adds up</strong>. During our Brighton-based rehearsal process, many of our cast and crew have been coming in from outside the city, and this will <strong>only increase</strong> in both price and number when we go to Camden.

<div>We want to make sure that, going forward and looking back, everyone involved is financially able to be part of the show - that's why <strong>we need your help</strong>, with either a donation or sharing the fundraiser with friends and family. <strong>All proceeds</strong> will go towards reimbursing the steadily building travel costs of our cast and crew.

<div><em>This is a big house, this one, full of locked doors and strange sounds, so very small really. It's an uncomfortable family dinner. It is, as they say in the theatre, intimate - it's warm, oddly so, like it might be alive, like it's breathing, or is that just the storm? Well, it hums in the soft middle of every earworm, of every tightening knot. You know it. It's not unfamiliar to you. Perhaps you have always known it.</em>

<div><em>The king is ready to split his kingdom between his daughters in preparation for his old age, but not for them to defy his expectations. This reworking of Shakespeare's masterpiece is an eerie, eclectic, pitch-black tragicomedy about family and the things it does to us. For some difficult conversations, a little murder, and a lot of rain, join us in the haunted world of an abandoned theatre, where the houses of Lear and Gloucester are just beginning to crumble…</em>
