Meg and I came back from vacation on September 30th. When we got home we had noticed that our little baby, King Arthur was having trouble urinating. We took him to the animal hospital immediately where they informed us that he had a urinary blockage. He stayed at the hospital for a week with a catheter in to try and unblock his urethra. We were able to bring him home this past Sunday, October 7th. We were so happy to see our little baby and he was so excited to see us too that he cried out as soon as he heard our voices.
For the first 48 hours of having him home everything seemed to be fine. He was urinating, eating, drinking, and enjoying lots of cuddles. But yesterday we noticed he hadn't gone to the bathroom at all. The doctors instructed us to bring him back to the hospital, which we did this morning on October 10th. After examining him once again, they realized there was a huge urethral tear and that the swelling around his backside had worsened. The doctors informed us that his kidneys were dangerously bad and we needed to get him into surgery immediately. The surgeon we've been speaking with has been amazing and is baffled that Arthur got so suddenly worse so fast - he said there is nothing we could have done to catch it faster.
His surgery happened and he is now recovering at the hospital, though they want to keep an eye on his kidneys. If you know us even the littlest amount, you know just how much we absolutely love our little boy. He's just a baby, not even two years old yet and all we want is for him to get better, to come home, and be where he belongs, knowing that we are here for him and that we'll do absolutely whatever it takes to make sure he's healthy and happy again.
His medical bills are increasing and while we don't care how much it costs to get him better and to bring him home, we are asking for any help that anyone can possibly give. Even the smallest amount helps more than you could know. We really do thank you for taking the time to read this and donate to get our little baby boy healthy and home. The King will return.
