Help! Forest Kineto Theatre needs support
The historic Kineto Theatre in Forest, Ontario is undergoing a major revitalization project and needs your help. The community has done a phenomenal job and raised over $700,000 and the project has commenced. As is often the case when dealing with older structures we had several "surprises" (air exchange systems, hydro service, plumbing, structural work, water lines, electrical work) our initial budget has nearly doubled. The new all-in budget now stands at $1.1million and we are reaching out to the greater internet for any financial assistance that may be available. Almost anyone from the greater Forest area will surely have some fond memories of this place, so please consider giving what you can to ensure the full project is able to be completed as envisioned.
The theatre has been a fixture of the community for over 100 years. Beyond offering cinematic entertainment it serves as a community hub, place of worship, employer for youth, events for the elderly and is headquarters for the local Kiwanis Club who have been operating the theatre as a not for profit service to the community for the past 43 years.
