On May 1, 2017, Kathy Ely suffered a stroke. Fortunately she only experienced minor weakness on her right side, and some speech/memory loss that has already improved and should continue to improve with time.
On Saturday, May 20, Kathy began running a high fever and experiencing severe shivers accompanied by excrutiating leg cramps. 4 days later, she was admitted to the hospital for the second time in the same month due to a UTI, pneumonia and dehydration. While in the hospital, Kathy developed some breathing problems that caused her to be placed on oxygen. As of today, May 30, she is still hospitalized with the hopes of being discharged this week after some more test results come back.
Because of her medical situation, Kathy has had to take a leave from work and will not receive her regular paychecks until she is healthy enough to return to work. Her family would like to reach out for financial support during this time in hopes of raising support to cover her monthly bills, as well as some of her medical costs.
Kathy's friends and family have been incredibly supportive during this last month, and we are overly thankful for the meals provided, visits made, cards sent, calls and messages received. A huge thank you in advance for any future prayers and support you might be able to offer. Above all, we want Kathy home healthy and reunited with her family. She glows when anyone mentions seeing and playing with her granddaughter, Elizabeth, after she is home. We cannot wait for that day. Thank you for loving Kathy and our family so well.
