Kindness Need No Translation

Robert and I have been blessed beyond measure to live in a world ravaged by a pandemic that left us financially unscathed. When so many of our friends suffered loss, we were able to travel and take stock of the things that really matter. 

On Sunday, we were introduced to Saki and her husband Hayden. They own a small ski lodge and have only been operating a couple of seasons. What should have been a rewarding season for them, instead resulted in near 100% vacancy. Their plans for renovations, expanding their cafe, got a lot further away because of the pandemic. 

In a conversation with Hayden, one only coffee lovers can understand, he expressed their desire to one day have a fancy espresso machine for their guests and visitors. I realized over the past couple days that this is something we can easily do for him and Saki to bring light to such darkness for their family business. 

Small acts of kindness have the ability to change our world for the better. We have never done something like this before, but I felt compelled to do this this way. To our friends and family, people like Hayden and Saki cross our path every day, just trying to survive in this world and they chose a profession of service to others. They gave our family a place to call home for a few days, would you please join me in paying their kindness forward and help me give them a small gift that brings huge joy?
