Kinder Rockets' Summer Bridge Video Series

Donation protected
Thank you for visiting our Kinder Rocket Media GoFundMe! As seen in the New York Times (Using Tech to Teach – Smartly  and Coronavirus Is Shutting Schools. Is America Ready for Virtual Learning?) the Kinder Rockets are a California based kindergarten class powered by Mr. C and his family. When COVID19 hit, ‍Mr C. (a kindergarten teacher) and his family, created a Facebook page  to provide content to ‍Mr. C’s (aka Dad’s) students in Salinas, but also for students everywhere. Over the last 70 days, the family has produced hundreds of videos with hours of content available to people for FREE via Facebook  and YouTube!

Over the summer, we realize that many families and students will be transitioning into a nebulous Kindergarten situation. As a family, our goal is to provide a FREE video series transition program for students entering kindergarten. This video series will be accessible on various platforms to include Facebook, YouTube, and more. The main objective is to build a strong foundation of literacy skills, number sense, and socially-emotionally grounded self-worth and esteem through rich and dynamic content and activities blending multiple subject areas with an emphasis on creativity, art, music, science, and history for kids and families. This 21st century learning will balance the usage of analog and digital props, materials, and activities to help our children develop relevant strategies for learning and accessing content in this new era of redefining the connection of home-school learning.

Goal: Provide free online video series for any and all students entering kindergarten available on various platforms (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Google Drive).

Budget: We have designed a $12,000 budget to include the following items to create and distribute accessible high-quality content for learning:

✅Costumes, Puppets, Props, and Set Equipment: $2,000,
✅Materials,  Manipulatives, and Consumables: $1,000,
✅Camera, Lighting, and Sound Equipment: $3,000, and
✅iMac Pro and Editing Software: $6,000.

The Formal Stuff: All videos, or online materials, can be accessed at www.kindrockets.world.  Donors' names/organizations will appear on our webpage and may be referred to or seen during the series. Logos/names, however, will not be “advertised” during the series because the content is created for children.

All material airing on the show will follow the Creative Commons licenses, with works properly used and cited. All materials will remain property of the Cogswell family with the intent of creating content for students and families. Materials and videos created will be available to the general public under the Creative Commons license of Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International.

Thanks! We hope you will support our passion project as we continue to educate our global community and empower our youngest learners. We hope to launch this project as soon as possible. Thanks in advance,  and always remember, YOU ARE A KIND-ER ROCKET!!!

Here are a few examples of the fun songs we have created!
