A week before Thanksgiving 2014 my mom was running around town like a mad woman. The holidays were coming and that meant cooking and loads of family and friends coming in to visit. Those who know my mom very well know that she has always kept her house very clean and decorated for EVERY holiday. I knew she hadn't been feeling well so I came to check on her. She was sitting in the floor, house a mess..paint everywhere, and she was in so much pain she couldn't get up. I helped her up and offered to fix dinner. She said no, of course, because she was in the middle of so many projects. (I always got on her for having too many projects going on at once.) I left shortly later. A few days later she was worse. She had a very hard time breathing and had already been diagnosed with bronchitis a few weeks earlier. She decided to make an appointment with her doctor. She had to be there at 3pm, and i had to be at work at the same time. She said she would be ok to go alone. An hour later she called me and said I needed to come pick her up from the doctors. I immediately left work. I was told that she had pneumonia and was sent home with breathing treatments. The next day she was worse so we went back. This time the dr. admitted mom in the hospital. She was diagnosed with Pneumonia and Malnutrition, because we then learned that she hadn't ate in 3 weeks. She said nothing tasted right. So she just wasnt eating. The next day, after MRI's and Xray's, the doctors come in and annouce that it is Stage 4 Lung Cancer that had already spread to her liver, pelvic area, and bones. From that moment on, Her life has been an emotional rollerscoaster, along with everyone who loves her. This is terminal and she has decided to no longer continue with ANY treatments. Dr's have told us that without treatment, she is looking at a few weeks to a couple months, and that was 2 weeks ago. Our family has come together as much as we can to help provide support, love, faith, and comfort to our beloved MOM, daughter, sister, and friend. She has meant so much and been such an inspiration to so MANY people in her beautiful 57 years. We want her memorial services to be just as beautiful. We are asking all friends and family to help us show our love and support to my Amazing, Beautiful, Caring mom, KIM RUDD HARDIN!!! All donations will go toward funeral and memorial services. Thank you.
