Kimmy Kaye Funeral Pay

Donation protected
It is with a very heavy heart, tears in our eyes and a catch in our breath that we disclose a much dreaded update on Kim's condition.

We are saddened to announce that Kim won't be with us very much longer. After having unbelievable strength and determination, as she fought for recovery, she will very soon succumb to her injury.

On August 7th, 2017 our much loved Kimberly Dyche slipped into a coma in her sleep, during which her brain was starved for oxygen resulting in a substantial brain injury.  Her condition has bounced back and forth between neurological and pulmonary and we have all waited and hoped for a miraculous recovery that would allow us to bring her home. Although her medical staff was doubtful she would be able to overcome such odds, we were very hopeful and trusting that she would prove them wrong.

After two weeks with no improvement we were all thrilled to have Kim awake from her coma! She spent the following 4 months in a vegetative state with varying states of consciousness and an ability to communicate thru motions, head nods and blinks.  We were again elated beyond words when she emerged out of her vegetative state and when she began her therapy, her passion for life shown once more with tremendous promise and progress.   She began to speak, she was eating regular food and taking part
in physical therapy.  We were absolutely certain our Kim was coming home!!

So as you can imagine we were beyond devastated when on one terrible night in late February she suffered many very serious seizures.  They set Kim back to ground zero.

She was again unable to speak or move and we were heartbroken.  But given that Kim is a natural fighter and we knew she would go the extra mile to be well again, we started over again in an attempt to nurture her back.  With love, family support and much therapy she is finally able to speak again, although not much.  She is able to express the amount of pain she is in and the frustration from not being able to move.  Kim is trapped in a body that is no longer functional for her and all she can do is lie in wait as family, doctors, nurses and therapists try to comfort her.

In August 2018 Kim fell further ill with a serious infection known as sepsis.  Despite all attempts to treat her, there are no medications that are able to impact the infections and she has begun to suffer more seizures despite being on very strong medications to treat them.

We have to accept the fact that our beloved mother, wife, sister and friend is ready to leave us, as hard as that has been to come to terms with.  By the time our stubborn hearts realized that we would have to say goodbye, we are unable to establish a way to pay for her journey home.  We greatly appreciate any donation you are able to make in order to put our Kimmy to rest.  All funds raised will go towards her funeral expenses.
