Kimlean’s School

Recently on a exploring trip within Cambodia I happened to meet an unbelievable man, Mr. Kimlean. He introduced himself as a local tuk  tuk driver,  accomadating to any journey you wished to undertake with kindness and enthusiasm, and one of the strongest work ethics I had ever seen! On our journeys together he revealed to me the inspiring story behind why he works such gruelling hours as a tuk tuk driver, 4 years ago he moved his wife and 4 children into a small room within the family home and turned his home into a Haven for local children to come and be provided with education, support and a nutritious meal, we’re  otherwise they would never be able to experience these simple things we take for granted each day! Of course this comes at an expense to Kimlean and his earnings from his tuk tuk are barely covering the rent each month let alone food for the children, supplies for education, teachers wages the list is endless! I am hoping to provide some relief and reassurance that this kind hearted man can continue this amazing work for the local children for time to come! 

Cambodia is an extremely poor country and the benefit of these lessons for the children can help them towards a better future and a greater way of life for all within the community! Kimlean caters for over 65 children aged between 3-14, many of these children spend the majority of the day fishing to provide their families with food, then they make the 30 min walk to their makeshift school! He spends over $50 a day on food alone, he pays his teachers $100 a month and has to pay $400 rent! 
Kimlean is in desperate need of $2500 to obtain a charity license to turn his inspirational school into a fully regulated charity and provide further support and opportunities for the many children in great need! If we manage to raise a further $20,000 Kimlean and his wife could buy the land his home is built on and cut back on the extortionate rent costs and provide more for the children!  
Kimlean can not do this alone for much longer, if you can donate as little or as much as possible it will go an unbelievably long way  for these children! I spent time and experienced first hand how the children are so awe inspiring, polite and their willingness to learn and achieve is like no other.  He has sacrificed so much already if we can raise this for him we can provide the relief, support, growth and great opportunity for mr.kimlean to continue his great work in this warming community for many years to come!
