Kimberly Cogar Cancer Care

As we know this may come a surprise to many, here is an update on what has happened in the past few months.

Back in April Kim complained of stomach pain and to our surprise her gall baldder was inflamed to the size of a softball due to a gall stone blockage. She recieved surgery removing her gall bladder hoping to relieve her symptoms and pain. After the normal recovery period, the pain in her abdomen got progressively worse which led us to seeing the doctor again to figure out what was causing this pain. After recieving a endoscopic ultrasound, the doctors located a mass located on her pancreas and it confirmed our worst fears. On August 4th, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. As this was a shock to all of us, we tried keeping it private and to immidiate family members and a few friends, respecting the wishes of someone who didn't want her life to change because she had "cancer". Over the course of the next two weeks, we visited every doctor and specialist trying to get a plan in place for what to do to fight this evil beast named cancer. At that point we were referred to Moffitt Cancer Center where we met with a team of amazing doctors that came together to put a plan into action to help Kim fight this battle. Getting ready to start chemo her pain began to spiral out of control so we brought her into Moffitt where they did scans/tests to figure out how to control the pain. The next morning the doctor's provided us with the news that within the past two weeks the cancer was so aggressive that it was spreading and she was now Stage 4 and she only had limited time left.

That evening Kim began her fight with Cancer. They started a very intense regimine of Chemotherapy and she was admitted to Moffitt for the next 10 days. There have been significant ups and downs since the beginning of this battle, but she has been such a strong beaming light of love and courage to go through everything that has been thrown at her. She has completed 3 rounds of chemotherapy so far and the battle still continues.

We are making this GoFundMe page to help with some of the medical bills that we have to cover. Anything will help in our family and Kim's time of need. We thank you for each and every donation that can be made to help us through this tough time, but ask that you keep Kim in your thoughts and prayers to conquer this challenge.

Positivity, love, prayer, and support has lead us thus far and we are not giving up!
