In June I was diagnosed with Stage 3 throat cancer(upgraded to Stage 4a Oct 3rd), I will be starting Chemo Therapy and Radiation Therapy (simultaniously) this week.  Thank God for the insurance coverage we had through Obamacare, but we found it is woefully inadequate for this type scenario.  It doesn't cover enough, and has very high deductables and co-pays. My doctors say, "You basically do not have coverage, and will be paying for everything out of your pocket".

Last year after our June 2016 Show, I was experiencing an earache and sore throat.  Went to the doctor and was given antibiotics.  Didn't really help and used natural medicine then assumed it was related to dental work I needed.  After visiting dentists and specialists and having dental work,  I still had pain.  Went back to doctor, had MRI and was referred to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor who scheduled me for an immediate tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.  Two days after the surgery the doctor informed my husband that the tonsil had a malignacy.  This has started my journey into the world of cancer and treatment ...  MRI's, Cat scans, full body PET scan, lab work,  insurance approvals, rejections daily calls to doctors labs and insurance adjusters.  This type cancer affects the head and neck region, expenses include  further dental work and mouth guards just to start the radiation treatment.  

Unfortunately my family was not ready for this situation it is much larger than we anticipated..  We were involved in the day to day ministry through Christian Performing Arts Center and keeping that ministry afloat.  But now I will have had to step back from the daily CPAC activities and focus on my health.  This is creating even more financial strain as I have to replace myself at the studio to go keep it running.
