<div>On 11/05/24 I received a phone call I never expected from my Sister to tell me my Beautiful, fun loving 16 year old Niece, with such a bright future ahead of her had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest

<div>When she was found by her amazing friend, he immediately started CPR which kept her alive, at that moment we had the hope she could get better from this.
</div>
<div>She was airlifted to Kings College hospital in London, where she has been in ICU, HDU &amp; most recently in a spine and brain injury ward, where she is receiving around the clock care, both from staff &amp; her parent/s
</div>

<div>After many tests &amp; scans we received the completely devastating news that due to losing 30 minutes of oxygen flowing to her brain she now sadly has profound brain injuries.
</div>
<div>The Doctor's have said her cardiac arrest was caused by a rare cardiac arrhythmia condition. 
</div>
<div>She is expected to stay in hospital for at least a year!

<div>This has already felt a very long &amp; extremely emotional journey, our Family will never be the same again. Our hearts have been shattered 
</div>
<div>There have been moments of hope, but sadly many more moments with worry, sadness &amp; grieving for the loss of Rubie as we all knew &amp; loved her. Our love for her will never change, but we must now all get to know a very different Rubie
</div>

<div>Rubies Mum &amp; her Step Dad have had to both give up their jobs so at least one of them can be at Rubies hospital bedside &amp; the other to care for her siblings.
</div>
<div>This means any money coming in is very minimal 
</div>

<div>Bills obviously don't stop &amp; now there are many more extra financial burdens on my Sister &amp; her Partner, as they start to prepare for the adaptions that will need to be made to their Family home &amp; any extra treatments &amp; therapies that may give Rubie a better quality of life

<div>I wanted to set up this page in the hope that some of you, those that knew Rubie &amp; even those that didn't would be kind enough to donate any amount you can

<div>I appreciate times are tough for everyone, but if we can try &amp; help take some of the financial worries away from this loving Family for a while during the most difficult time of their lives, it would mean so much, so they can just concentrate on Rubie &amp; spend this time helping to care for her &amp; be by her side
