Love each day. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

On Sunday 2/6/22 at 2:30am, a drunk, speeding, reckless driver went off the road with his truck which went airborne, crashing through the house and into a 2nd floor bedroom, where the headboard was on the other side of the wall. The impact sent Kim (wife, mother, new grandmother, and a Registered Nurse) in an airlift to the local hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, Kim’s dog, also in the bed with her, did not survive the impact. Miraculously, Tim, (Kims husband, a self-employed landscape designer) was in another room at the moment of impact and was able to call for help.

I want this story to reach millions. There are so many lessons.

Please share this with any and all of your connections to spread this story around.  I know the power of ripple effects, so if one person in another country I have never or will ever meet decides to get a ride home from the pub instead of driving because of seeing this, all of my efforts have been worth it. Your sharing this has the capacity to change the trajectory of people’s lives. Love each day.

25 years ago, we were told never to meet people from the Internet, or to get in the car with a stranger. Now, we do both. Uber, Lyft, or any of the countless options are available to us.  Times change, things evolve, and we have more resources a few clicks away than we ever have… Choose wisely.  Order it for yourself, order it for your friend, or stop that friend who lives “just around the block”. If you can afford a car payment, gas, and insurance to get to wherever you are drinking, you can afford an Uber ride to get home safely.

The family is consumed with the medical care at the ICU, so I obtained permission from the family to begin orchestrating a support network as they recover, rebuild, and remember.

I was given clearance by the family to share the following updates
2/10/22  "Still critical but stable. Hopefully only one more surgery to go. She’s being strong but still needs prayers"
3/2/22 We are THRILLED to announce that Kim is officially out of the Intensive Care Unit and has graduated up to a normal Hospital room!! She is making progress every single day, she is an absolute miracle!!

Kim & Tim Terry Recovery Efforts

They are the most amazing, kind, honest, hard-working, giving family; now we have a chance to give to and help them.  I understand that there are strengths and shortcomings with every donation platform. I have chosen GoFundMe as it is the most widely known. The family is eternally grateful for all of the support! With the extent of the injuries and damage, this is extremely serious and will take years to resolve.

If you would rather give physical labor, food, cash/check, Amazon / Home Depot gift cards, etc. (please lean into whatever gifts / strengths / resources you have) to the family, I’m located in Bethlehem, PA and travel out as far as Bridgewater, NJ every week. I would be happy to meet you somewhere in order to relay your donation. Please send me a message for my schedule.  Taylor Rental in Washington (Rt.31South) has also offered to be a physical drop off location if you have a get-well-soon card. Thank you, Taylor Rental!

We also have a Facebook Group for collaborative support: https://www.facebook.com/groups/terrysupport

I share the deepest thanks for all of your love, support, donations, offers, calls, offerings, etc.!  The quantity, quality, and variety of offerings has been breathtaking. We are overwhelmed (in a good way) with the way people are stepping up to help this family.  In telling this story I’ve realized that the Terry family is akin to movie characters. The husband and wife with a daughter and a son, Ford trucks in the driveway, a yellow Labrador retriever smiling from the porch of the farmhouse, he’s the local landscaper and was our t-ball coach, she was the school nurse, just incredible Americans.

Please share this / contribute if you are able / share the story / send a prayer up. Go live your life, because we never know when something outside of our control could change everything.
