Kim was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy (Berger's Disease) in 1989. This is a disease that affects her kidneys. She has already received 2 kidney transplants. One in 1996 from her father, that lasted 4 1/2 years. Then back on dialysis till she received another transplant in 2007 from a deceased donor. Hoping for another transplant, she is on the national doner list. Life has been a struggle raising 3 boys, Devin, Nicholas and Jaden. In the past 3 years other medical problems have unfortunately arised that have caused a hardship. She is the strongest person I know and could use a little help during these times. She always has a positive outlook on everything, especially all that she has recently been through. She was still working up until the beginning of June, when she has had 6 surgeries on her Fistula (dialysis access). It became very infected and they had to finally take out that access. She has been in and out of the hospital consistently for the past 3 months. Not only did she have to deal with all of the complications of her fistula, but then also broke her tailbone in the process. On Saturday, August 11th, she received a call that a kidney had finally been available for her. Unfortunately, she was not able to accept it as a result of her previous surgeries, and multiple infections caused from them. She is currently receiving disability from her job, but not even enough to pay her bills. Any donation, even a small amount, would make a huge difference in Kim's life! Thank You everyone!
