Kim Gipson Cancer Fund

My sister-in-law has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  She and Mike (my brother) have had some hard times the last few years.  My brother became disabled after a workplace accident.  Thankfully, he was approved for disability, but this is nowhere close to the salary he was accustomed to as a Restaurant Manager with Sonic.

Things started looking up when Kim started working at Amazon and was earning a great salary!  Then came the cancer diagnosis.  Amazon fired Kim because she hadn't been there long enough to qualify for protected leave, and she has been unable to work due to the cancer and needed treatments.

They made the decision a few months ago to live out of their van so they could save up some money and were fine with this until recently.  Kim has always been tiny but is losing weight at an alarming rate, and living in the van is exacerbating the pain levels and discomfort.  She is also having surgery in a couple of weeks and then will start chemotherapy and radiation, so living in a van will be very tough after surgery and the treatments.

I am starting this GoFundMe to help Kim and Mike with medical expenses, overall costs for treatments, and hopefully to be able to find a comfortable place to live.  This is an urgent need, so I hope that if you are able to donate, you will consider it.
