Now, more than ever, with all the multitude of things happening in the world, we need safe haven, refuge, a place to be in community, heal, and connect to our indigenous roots, in order to cultivate our individually unique talents and gifts that will help our world be a better and more equitable place.

Kilusan Wellness is such a place.

Kilusan, in Pilipino, translates to ‘movement’ in English. In Chinese medicine, we say that pain or dis-ease arises when our blood or our energy is not circulating properly in the body.  By restoring the natural flow via supporting movement, we allow the body, mind, and spirit the opportunity to heal.

Movement within the body is important. Movement of the body is also vital. Social justice movements are imperative to our collective survival. We reclaim Kapwa, the recognition of Self in Others, as a drive to heal with Community, to build resilience.

Kilusan Wellness has an abiding interest in serving the needs of Pilipino-Americans, other folks of color, and populations that have been historically underserved. We have a mission to support healing through decolonization and promoting wholeness rooted in the teachings of indigenous knowledge systems and traditional healing practices.

Kilusan Wellness is currently undergoing our 501c3 application process for non-profit status. We are raising funds for start-up expenses, including legal/application fees. We are looking forward to providing pop-up wellness clinics in the community and at other Bay Area non-profit organizations.  Projects, in the works, include a lineage project that assists participants in tracing their ancestry to their indigenous roots, wellness programs aimed at supporting the beginning of life and the end of life.

We look forward to the day when we can build out our permanent space where we will have: multiple treatment rooms, community acupuncture clinic, classroom learning space, a community garden that grows both food crops and medicinal herbs, a commercial kitchen for herbal medicine making, ample volunteer opportunities, as well as a gathering and rehearsal space for indigenous dance, drumming, and music.

We warmly invite you to contribute to Kilusan Wellness coming into Being.
