Kilometres for Key Workers with Ashton Hockey Club

Kilometres 4 Key Workers is an initiative from Ashton Hockey Club that is open to support from all.
Funds raised will be used to deliver meals and snacks from local businesses to heroes on the frontline in Cork.
Follow these quick steps to get involved:
1. Donate whatever you can to help us reach €2,000 for our frontline heroes - thank you
2. Get ready for some kilometre counting and leaderboard wars from the safety of your 5km - Download Strava, join the Ashton Hockey Club and use your fitness tracker or phone to help us reach 20,000km by the 28th of February - https://www.strava.com/clubs/850893
3. Log all your exercise as normal - you're welcome to complete a lovely beep test and some handy sprints in your own time and 5km, but walks, runs, cycles, crawls are all just as good.
Whatever you do, log your activity as a 'Run'.
4. Check the leaderboard to see who's between you and 1st place!
Our goals are €2,000 and 20,000km, but the more we achieve, the further this fund will reach in our community.
Bonus points if you:
5. Share a picture from your activity with Ashton Hockey Club on Instagram or Strava
6. Use the hashtag #kms4keyworkers
Why are we running the Kilometres 4 Key Workers fundraiser?
We made it through January 2021 - well done!
Most of us are doing our best to get out for some walks, runs and cycles. It's not the same exercising without our friends and teammates, so we're stepping it up for February and getting moving together, virtually.
We can stay in touch on Strava, track each others progress, even compete a little, and most importantly support those members of our club and community that are facing big challenges right now working on the frontline.
Where exactly will the money go?
All funds raised will be used to deliver meals from Cork businesses to frontline workers, beginning with main hospitals in and around Cork City.
