This summer we've decided to embark on something a bit different in order to raise money for a cause very dear to our hearts - an inspiring charity dedicated to improving the life of Ghana's most vulnerable and disadvantaged children - Afrikids.
Sophie has been fortunate enough to visit Ghana twice as a volunteer and has seen first hand the invaluable difference Afrikid's has had on society, the economy, health care and the improvement of child rights. All initiatives empower communities to make the necessary changes themselves, in turn providing absolute sustainability.
We are climbing with a group from Bristol's charity committee (RAG) and the committee has decided that £750 of the money that each member raises will also go to The Hodgkin Scholarship Trust which funds university places for students from developing countries who otherwise would not have the opportunity for further education.
Although we are two of the most unlikely people to engage in challenging physical activity these are causes that mean so much to us. We have both started rigorous fitness regime and Sophie has even totally quit smoking and Mae is well on her way!! We are hoping to raise as much money as possible and any amount is hugely appreciated (each £50 raised is enough to pay for school fees for a former street child in Ghana). Please support us and know that you'll be with us every step of the way.
