The Simmons have a dog!
We found Linus, a 6 year old beagle, at the Guilford County Animal Shelter and were hesitant to meet him because he tested positive for heartworms. You can learn more about dogs and heartworms here
We would have waited for a dog that was healthy except that when Linus enter the meet and greet area, he instantly connected with Audrey first, then Lee, then Joshua and even Eloise was quickly won over by his sweet nature. The shelter let us know that to complete the heartworm treatment we would need to have anywhere from $200-$1,000.
As we have called vets we are finding that the treatment is rarely ever lower than $800 and we booked his appointment with a vet this week.
We are asking friends and family to help us carry this burden and get this great dog healthy!
The longer he has been in our family the more we see that he was just the dog for us and have been encouraged my several of you to set up this go fund me to get help. Here are some things you can get by helping fund Linus's heartworm treatment.
