Kilimanjaro Climb to Support Merseyside Homeless

Please help suppot this brilliant Merseyside charity!!

I'm Ste Hamley born Smithdown Road in Livepool and I work as an Alpha Taxi diver. My work takes me all over the city night and day and there has been a big  increase in homelessness in the 10 years I've been working.

As well as sleeping in doorways, woods and alleyways people are crashing with friends and sofa surfing. Personally I lost in a friend in February 2020  who fell on hard times and encountered homelessness, meet the lovely Mick Marshall with his Beatles cover in better times.

I believe that people should be able to feel safe to live and bring up their families. also that everyone should have somewhere comfortable to rest their head. This is why I am supporting SHAP a local charity that has helped address this problem locally for over 40 years.

SHAP is a Merseyside based charity that works to help the homeless in Merseyside. It helps provides accommodation, helps young mothers,  educates and supports re-homing. They also have operations in Kirkby, Huyton, St Helens, Aigburth and Toxteth. SHAP offer a way out of homelessness providing accommodation, mental health and crisis support.
Elizabeth Anderson House.

I was invited to 2 of SHAP's projects Elizabeth Anderson House on Aigburth Road where single parents and their babies or toddlers can stay for up to 2 yeas in their own flats, supported by dedicated staff where they are helped and given skills to help them parent and become able to live independently. Here they are safe from the threat of domestic abuse or bad home environment.

SHAP would use your money to provide furniture, kitchen utensils and other necessities to these young mothers and their children as they move into their own homes as well as to provide toys and facilities for the youngsters.

Belvidere Family Centre

At the Belvidere Family Centre SHAP provides accommodation for up to 16 families who have found themselves homeless. Here families are helped and rehoused, encouraged to find independence and permanent housing. This great facility allows families to be able to step towards a brighter future in a clean secure and pleasant environment.

Outdoor play area with only very limited facilities.

Funds raised on this Gofundme page will go towards providing play facilities for children like garden play apparatus and in the indoor play areas computer facilities to keep kids entertained and allow people to search for accommodation.

Kilimanjaro

On the 23rd of September2021 I plan on hiking to the top of mount Kilimanjaro, to try and help raise money for this cool charity.  Every penny raised goes back into our community.

Kilimanjaro is the biggest mountain the biggest in Africa, the highest free standing mountain in the world. It's a dormant volcano in Tanzania and is 4,900 metres up. Should be no problem! It's only going to take a week to get up. I expect to have to contend with blisters, heat, cold altitude sickness and climb above the clouds to the highest point in Africa.

I am supporting this cause is because they are local also 100% of money raised will go directly to the clients and will make a signifiant benefit and difference. Please help me help the homeless On Merseyside ! Do a kind deed and support and share the cause. If you can that would be so excellent.

Wish me well. Thanks.

Ste.
