#2: My name is Kayla...I am a General Surgeon from the United States working and teaching at Shinyanga Regional Referral Hospital in Shinyanga, Tanzania...going on 2 years now. You can read more here: kaylafaithgriffith.wordpress.com/kiliforacause
#3: I am now at the final 6 months of my tour in East Africa and have a very interested surgeon wanting to take the baton from me...but as in everything, it requires money...which just isn't there. I am incredibly fearful that the relationships and educational gains from the past 2 years are about to be left on the side of the highway. So I’m doing my darnedest to try to raise money for my colleague to continue in my place. So...I am preparing to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain Feb18-25, + run the Kilimanjaro Marathon 1 week later on March 4...and with my physical work, I’m willing to trade off $$$ for Shinyanga! Currently working on setting up an official site for donations to be tax deductible to a 501c3, but until then, you are WELCOME to make your donations here. Karibu! (You can also email me {click the contact button} to be contacted when the 501c3 tax-deductible link is ready...it's my personal email for follow-up so you aren't added to a mass distribution list.)
#4: If 200 people donate only $5 each, we are well on our way with $1000!! Please consider donating what you would spend on one Chicago pizza slice or one Washington, DC, Happy Hour beer or one plate of North Carolina BBQ...anything helps (even $1!)...and we will be utterly grateful.
