Kijabe Hospital Expansion Project
In 1915 a medical ministry was established in Kijabe, Kenya by African Inland Mission. Over the last nearly 100 years the work has grown in impacting lives well over 100,000 patients a year in the present day 250 bed hospital, outpatient department, and medical training facility known as AIC Kijabe Hospital. Today the hospital is running at maximum capacity for its current physical size and infrastructure. There are more than 20 proposed expansion plans for the physical buildings on site in the next 10 years. I have the opportunity to go and assist a team of 15 designers and engineers in the continued development of a master plan for Kijabe Hospital. I am asking for financial help in covering the cost of the trip. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Pre-trip: Project Goals and Information Project
Scope This
team will consider the growth and visions of various hospital
buildings to include features such as more operating theatres, a new
Pediatric wing, outpatient expansion, palliative care unit, training

capacity and in desperate need of improved and expanded function.
While
in country we will try to complete as much of the following as
possible. Those
in bold we MUST do while there. Those
in italics we typically complete after the trip. When
we return to the states we will complete the design effort and
prepare a report and drawings for construction. Architectural:
