Hello,
My name is Kiesha Williams and I am a very funny, upbeat, loveable, extremely honest individual.   I was very active in my community helping young ladies teaching them basketball skills and life skills all at the same time and loving every minute of it.  Just living life the best way I could.

Then my life changed for ever over night.  In Sept of 2014 I attended my very first slumber party I was having the time of my life and I wouldn't take it back for nothing in the world.   After having a pretty rough start to the year we lost my mom (from a very sudden death) as well as my grandmother months later in the year.  I was having sinus issues and one of the party goers gave me some Strawberry flavoredAlka Seltzer Cold and Sinus medicine.  And if you know me for real you know I'm a sucker for anything strawberry and I have a very short attention span; and I am very silly.  Since I am allergic to several different kinds of medicines and me knowing this i have to read all of the ingredients of every medicine i take.  And I have never ever taken Alka Seltzer before so I began to read the back of the package, but instead of finish reading it I opening the package and put it in the water. The kid in me seen the water bubbling and the strawberry smell came up and I picked the cup and just started drinking it and threw the package away.  Why did I do that? SMH...

About 15 minutes later I was itching, then my eyes begin to swell, then my tongue, it got bad real fast.  But the only thing I could think of was them calling my dad and telling him that it was something wrong with me especially after the sudden death of my mother.  So I just started making light of the situation and started cracking jokes to keep everyone calm; all the while everything from the inside of me to the outside was swelling up.  By the time the ambulance got there they gave me about 7 or 8 epi's that did nothing.  It was a blessing that we were right down the street from the hospital.  The last thing I remember was the Doctor coming in the room and telling everyone to stop moving and to get the tubes because I my airway was swollen and they had to intabate to save my life.  I was in ICU in a medically induced Coma for 4 days.   This was only the beginning of my journey.

After i was awaken from (which my family said i woke up a couple of times while i was under) the coma, I spent 2 days removing all the medicines from my body the hard way.  So that was 6 days without eating or drinking; which was fine cause I needed to go on a diet anyway.  So needless to say I can add that medicine to my allergy list as well.  After that experience I had trouble speaking I sounded like Dark Vader.  Everyone in my family got a kick out of it.  Me as well actually I sounded like a grown man.  Now I was released from the hospital in this condition after telling them that it was something seriously wrong with me; and they said that because I had all those tubes and medicines down my throat that it would clear up in a week or so.  So I took their word since they were ther Doctor and I left in hopes that it was a true statement.

They lied.  The month passed and I still had the same issues.  I had to go and see my PCP Doctor and explain the situation and he sent me to get all kinds of test; they said I had asthma and all kinds of stuff.  I simply just keep telling them that it was something down my throat that was causing me discomfort and it felt as if i was breathing thru a straw.  Trying to convince someone that you know whats wrong with you when they have a DEGREE and They  KNOW everything is very difficult.  So by me doing all these test I was in and out of work and in between jobs.  Actually God was in the process with blessing me with a new job that I had started in November of 2014.

In December of 2014 I had to go back to the ER again because my oxygen dropped down in the 70s again and i finally convinced a ENT Dr to just simply look down my throat.  When he did he seen a cyst the size a cherry blocking my airway with my airway already small this was a very huge issue.  He immediately scheduled me for surgery for the beginning of the year.  The was the beginning of many more surgeries.  Between Jan 2015 and Jan 2016 I have had 12 surgeries in my throat.  I was diagnosed with Subglottic cyst.  I had so many because they just kept coming back.  I had several test done to see when, why, or what the reasoning they where coming, but nothing ever came back in the test they all came back as negative.  They came back so fast that one day I came out of one surgery and never got out of recovery before it decided to grown back in my throat; and i woke up with a treach in my neck.  So then I had tracheal stenosis.  So again I am out of work for all these reasons.  Surgery after surgery not knowing when they where going to grow back and cut off my airway.  But then to wake up with a treach and this wasn't even a conversation we talked about this even being an option.  Talking about a mental breakdown.  BUT GOD.  I had a great support system for spiritual support to keep me grounded so that I wouldn't loose my mind.

But to make things worse, I kept getting infections in my treach and in my blood system; as well as I had received a blood clot from a pic line that i had to get because i have bad veins and that was easier since I was in and out of the hospital so much.   At the end of the day I end up having a total of 12 treachs placed before I didn't have to have anymore. BUT GOD!  Now I have battle scar to remind me of the love and care and the process that God took  me thru.  While going thru this process of being in and out the hospital I found out that I was allergic to myself.  Crazy huh?  The Doctor actually came in the room and told me that I am allergic to myself and it is causing my body to fight against me.  So at that time I fould out I have connective tissue disease.  I was like AMAZING!

In the midst of all of these health issues all the things I use to do in my life I had to give up.  Being active in life and family, being active in my church, being active in my community, and in AAU Basketball with my girls.  I think that was the harder than the actual illnesses and health issues that I was going thru.  Missing work, not being able to take care of myself financially; was really beginning to take a toll on me.

Now moving right alone to the middle of 2017 I have been in and out of work all year.  I found out I have not only connective tissue disease, I have; fibromyaligia, sjogrens syndrome, RA, chronic pain in joints and spinal cord, black outs, poor concentration, sensitivety to light and noise, inflammatory arthritis, and chronic migraines.  I go back and for to the Doctors and, ERs and Urgent Cares; and please don't forget the 2 days a week I go to PT for pain management.  I have not worked since August at my job and have been turned down for STD/LTD finacial benefits.  But I am promised a job and I have medical benefits until I return to work which is Feb of 2018 according to my Neuro Doctor.

I am asking for $4000 to help pay for my Doctor bills, house bills, medicine which I have to take everyday, as well as me keeping my vehicle so that I can get back and forth to my doctor appointments.  Any amount will help;  I have a very immediate need.  I have reached out to different agencies but because I am a single person and don't have any dependents and not on any government assistance its hard for me to get any help from them.  I thank God for the people He has placed in my life thus far.  I haven't been in my house since Sept due to finances, but He I still trust God to make a way and He has been doing just that.  I thank you in an advance for what you are able to give to me to help me in my endeavors.  God Bless!!!  THANK YOU
