<div>In November 2022, my partner, Kieran Shingler, also a son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend was unexpectedly diagnosed with a high grade cancerous brain tumour, at the age of 23.
</div>

</div>
<div>Following an emergency CT scan at Warrington Hospital, Kieran was admitted to The Walton Centre, where he had four major brain surgeries, including an emergency surgery on Christmas Day. As you can imagine this was a horrific time for our family and friends. Following his four surgery’s, Kieran also suffers from short-term memory loss. He started his treatment, both Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy at Clatterbridge, Liverpool, and finishes his first cycle at the end of February.

<div>Anyone who knows Kie, knows how much he loves sport, especially in the football and triathlon world. Kie is such an active person and loves getting out on his bike, going for a run or even a swim (both indoor and outdoor). He has taken part in several triathlons and has always amazed those who support him with how determined he is.

</div>
<div>Myself, family, friends are keen to raise funds to support several brain tumour charities close to our heart and funds for Kieran to do the things he loves. Your efforts, donations and own fundraising will help us out.

<div>Over £700m is spent on cancer research in the UK every year, yet less than 3% is spent on brain tumours - WE WANT TO CHANGE THIS!
</div>

<div>Update - Summer 2025: Kieran has had 30 sessions of dual chemoradio therapy in January 2023 followed by 4 months of TMZ (oral chemo) and then 3 cycles of Lomustine (another oral chemo) due to the TMZ no longer working. Kieran had to stop treatment in November 2023 as his liver was badly damaged and continuing with chemotherapy could have been fatal.

<div>He went 19 months without any treatment from the NHS and his tumour continued to shrink, which was unbelievable news! During this time, the money we had raised allowed us to buy a Hyperbaric Oxygen Tank, a red light machine and a PEMF machine, all of which have shown this helps and increases his recovery and helps with his short-term memory loss.

<div>In June 2025, we got told the news that Kieran's tumour has started to grow again. He was put back on chemotherapy to help get this back under control. We would love to continue to raise money for charities close to our hearts as well as making memories and doing the things Kieran loves, which can be as simple as going to a yummy breakfast and coffee.
