Kids Cycling for Cape Town: COVID-19 Relief

Hi,
We are Gabriel and David from Bolzano/Bozen (Italy), nine and seven years old and enthusiastic cyclists. On our first bike tour after the lockdown we had the idea to collect donations through cycling for people who have not been as lucky during the coronavirus emergency and otherwise in their lives. So, this is our project:
- Together with our dad, we will cycle from 23 to 30 August about 400-500 km in two regions of Northern Italy (Trentino-South Tyrol and Veneto) to raise funds for a non-profit organization based in Cape Town.
- South African friends of our family who work with “Where Rainbows Meet” highly recommended this organization to which all collected funds will be transferred. Worldwide South Africa has been among the countries most affected by the pandemic which also resulted, above all in the townships, in a severe food crisis. Therefore, the work of “Where Rainbows Meet” is currently focused on COVID-19 relief, especially through a nutritional feeding program for anyone in need of a meal (see the video below).
- To enable you to follow our trip we will track and document the single stages of our tour using the App Komoot and share them via this Twitter account: https://twitter.com/KarlKoessler
Our parents will contribute 50 cents for each kilometer travelled on our bikes. Would you also be willing to make a donation? Perhaps other families would start similar projects and donate 50 cents for each kilometer that their children cycle, run, hike, etc. for this charity or any other? Do you know someone else who could be willing to support our initiative?
