<div>We’re a neurodivergent queer couple, Sam (27) and Amon (25) trying to get married but we’ve faced a startling hurdle.

<div>Amon was diagnosed with CKD (chronic kidney disease) stage 4 and is in desperate need of a kidney transplant so we’re raising the funds in order to get the surgery. While we’re still searching on a donor, anything will help so that when the time is right, we can have the money in order to seek help. Every test has been done, this is our only option.

<div>We met online through our shared love for art and writing, and developed a fast friendship. I fell in love first, drawn to his admirable charisma, intelligence, talent, sense of humor, and undeniably strong resolve and bravery. We’ve faced many hardships since being together especially since we live almost 7,000 miles (about 11,300 km) apart. Even through long distance, however, we’ve still been able to connect through the help of friends and some family. We met for the first time in 2022 when war broke out and Amon was forced to move out of his home in order to stay safe to a country we barely knew anything about. We spent a month together and I proposed (I still can’t believe he said yes). Together, we made sure he was safe and comfortable until the next move later that year to another country close by. Here, we met again to just be with each other peacefully; a chance to see a normal life together. After our second trip, I began papers for his fiancé visa but quickly, his health started declining. After much anxiety and tests and waiting, doctor’s finally gave us the answer but this is only the beginning.

<div>Nos conocimos en línea gracias a nuestro amor compartido por el arte y la escritura, y desarrollamos una rápida amistad. Me enamoré primero, atraído por su admirable carisma, inteligencia, talento, sentido del humor y su innegable determinación y valentía.
