Kidney Kindness - Momasita Mission

Welcome to our journey in searching for a Kidney match to a phenomenal woman and to fund the complex beautiful life it'll bring thereafter!

Meet our Momasita! Or better known as "Blanca", she's an angel that has blessed this earth with the largest and kindest heart in my humble opinion. She's the lady in your community that you can always rely on to help with your fundraiser, or the neighbour that would host the summer BBQ that keeps your street connected. She's the Mom that worked three jobs to keep your tummy full, and reorganized her life to drive you to all your after school activities and supports your every passion. She's the woman we look up to, the small business owner we admire, and the spirit we recognize as fierce and passionate that we can't help but notice.

I'm sure you all know of different people who encompass these characteristics, and we're blessed to have a mother that internalizes all of them. She is truly a selfless individual and has really never asked anyone for anything, and still isn't. That's where her six children step in, and I'm blessed and proud to be one of them! She has three beautiful daughters, a wonderful son, fantastic step-son and even took in our foster brother while our brother was in high-school. We're blessed to have our step-dad be a true hero and support her every need and take on even more for the household in regards to her healing.

My mom is this described woman and SO much more! She is the salt of the earth and I pray that you can resonate and relate to this campaign in some way. She is a woman who started with literally nothing in the city of Acapulco, Mexico. Was raised by a mother whom didn't take the role as a provider or caregiver, but of an account manager whom sent her children to work at any and all stakes of which even challenged morals. My mom before the age of 7 would wax surfboards, climb coconut trees, and sell jello before school. If she didn't come back with a certain amount of money she was.... I'm sure you can fill in the blank.

She's been a real survivor from the hardships in this world, and has stayed pure of heart and a selfless loving individual whom always puts her family and loved ones before her. I hope you can help me in giving her peace of mind and comfort in knowing she'll be financially taken care of while she's fighting this disease - of which was caused from her life of fighting for herself and her family to make it in this world.

Because my mom didn't have much food at home growing up in a poor family in Mexico, she would search the beach for washed up dead seafood or take the left overs from the garbage at her evening restaurant job after school.

You see, my mom has worked extrememly hard her entire life. Never asked for anything and always gave what she had. She gives from her heart, her mind, and anything she can spare. She's literally given the shirt off her back for someone.

What happened is her kidneys couldn't keep up with the malnourishment of her childhood and her extreme work ethic as an adult and single mother for six children. For a full year no one knew what was wrong and she endured multiple strenuous tests every. single. week...!

After about two years the doctors finally figured out her pain and sickness was from her failing kidneys, from ingesting foreign bacteria for most of her life and being surrounded by such harsh chemicals. My mom's passion and career is cosmetology and she started doing hair at age 12 in Mexico. She has worked her way up to being a director for the hair stylist college here in the Okanagan and can be seen at local hair shows as a judge. She's worked extremely hard to be where she is today and has been recognized numerous time in the community for donating her services for their charities.

Now I rally with our family to raise deserving funds for her. I appreciate you reading thus far!

The funds raised will be used when she finally receives her kidney, and if you know anyone whom is interested in being tested to donate theirs- please email me and I'll gratefully send you information!

When she receives the call for the kidney she will need to immediately move to Vancouver for 3 months and stay extremely close to St. Paul's Hospital. All of the rental space in this downtown area is at least $2000.

$10,000 will be allocated to her rent and living expenses in downtown Vancouver for 3 months.

The remaining $30,000 will be for her living expenses while she heals for the next one to two years in The Okanagan.

My mom has already needed to tremendously bring down her work from full time to part time, and now semi-part time. She has been personally saving and hasn't asked for help from anyone, hence the reason I'm creating this page!

She is currently on 8 hours of Dialysis per day and has done all the tests she needs done to receive a kidney. She's extremely positive, strong and is determined to be healed and have a better quality of life.

Thank you so much for reading our story and we tremendously appreciate any sort of help you can provide! We hope to reach our goal by January 2019 and are thankful for yourself to join us in having Kidney Kindness for our Momasita's Mission!
