Kidney for Gary Moore
Donation protected
My name is Yalonda and I've been married to Gary for 32 years. We have 7 children and 11 grandchildren. Gary is a humble, loving and giving person. He is also very private about his health. But after some time he has agreed to open up about his life with Kidney Dieses and what it would take to improve his life and others.
Six years ago Gary became ill. He ended up in the hospital having a heart attack and stroke and then Kidney failure. Gary, has been on home dialysis now for 6 years. All though this keeps Gary is doing well he still needs a kidney. If you click the link below you can hear him talk about the life he lives on dialysis.

After the airing of this story we received a lot of questions on how to donate to Gary and how to become a donor.
Becoming a kidney donor is as easy as getting a blood and tissue test to make sure your healthy and are a match to a person who needs and organ. There are many people out here that can use your help. There are thousands of people on the transplant list so it helps a lot when a patient is able to find a living donor and help someone else on the list move up. Getting tested can possibly help Gary or another person in need.
If you want to be tested we ask you to contact us so we can give our Coordinator your information. Or feel free to call the Portland Transplant Center at 1-800-949-1004 and let them know you want to be tested for Gary A. Moore.
Gary is actively on the Kidney Transplant List. Not IF but WHEN Gary is able to get a match or called for transplant this will be a long road to haul. During this time he has to have a support person with him at all times. We both will have to live in Portland for 3-4 months cause there isn't a transplant center her in Alaska . While our lodging will be covered during our stay, there are other things that wont be. Whatever we need while in Portland such as food, personal up keep, transportation these are things that wont be taken care of. We will also have to maintain our bills and home here in Alaska all which we'll need help with cause neither of us will be able to work during this time.
So we're asking your help to reach our goal for a kidney and financial stability in order for Gary to receive a transplant. If we reach our goal then we can help someone else reach there's when it's time.
If your are a person who just needs to talk to someone about Kidney disease you can contact us for that as well. Just like we need your help I'm sure there's others out there who need our help.
