Send Mike's Robotics Team to WORLD Competition

Never have I been so excited for something I started doing in school. I joined my school's VEX Robotics Club as a programmer in December of 2016. In a little over a year, I've learned so many new things that I thought I'd never get the opportunity to, not only with robots but also with people. While winning several competitions (even getting to compete in the World Championship both last year and this year), I've learned not only how to design, build, program, drive, and compete with a robot specifically tailored to extremely complicated games designed to push students to their limits, but I've been part of a team, which is something that's really helped me understand the importance of working with others and how it can better shape me as a person. I've become part of a whole new family -- a VEX family.
Next school year, however, I would like to achieve my ultimate goal: starting my own team and going back to the world championship, this time to win. Unfortunately, funding will be extremely tight for school clubs, and without outside help, I will not be able to achieve this goal of having my own team because we won't be able to afford the necessary parts to build a robot, let alone register for competitions. With your generous donation, I'd be able to purchase enough materials to start my team and participate in next year's VEX robotics competition and maybe even get back on the world stage. Maybe I'll even grab the attention of some of the top level computer science colleges I hope to attend, such as Carnegie Mellon or MIT.

- Robot components (includes metal, gears, wheels, bearings, etc., does not include screws, nuts, and other non-specific hardware)
