Kicking Henry’s butt fund!

Hi, my name is keira cockwill, and I’m fundraising for my best friend Kaylene Farrell. Kaylene is a 19 year old support worker local to the Fort St. John area. In 2013 kaylene and her family got the devastating news that kaylene had a brain tumour. We were only in grade 5 and I remember it like it was yesterday. The ordeal was hard but thankfully kaylene got her surgery and was able to resume life again after extensive physio therapy and follow up visits for years to come. Kaylene went for scans every year or so and there was no sign of her tumour reoccurring. Unfortunately kaylene knew her body and knew before she even got the news that the tumour, or as we call him, our friend Henry, was back. We were all devastated and at a loss, after so long, he was back. Things moved steadily throughout the last year with the symptoms of Kaylene’s tumour growing steadily worse. Finally after the long wait times due to Covid, her surgery was finally booked! Kaylene receives surgery in Edmonton TODAY! Which is amazing! (Will post updates after surgery) but unfortunately, following her surgery she will need once again, extensive physio, follow up trips to Edmonton, and now to add to that because she’s out on her own housing, food, and hotels so that her boyfriend Ashton can be with her during these trying times. Kaylene is the most financially responsible 19 year old that I know but savings unfortunately only take someone so far.. As someone lucky enough to be friends with this person I can say that I am devasted that she has to go through this traumatic experience again so I decided I wanted to get up and help, even if just a bit. Kaylene has a long uphill battle to fight even without worrying about bills. So that’s where we as a community come in! If you are able, please donate!
