On October 11th she had to have a bowel resection due to a blockage in her colon. Biopsies confirmed that the tumor in her colon was malignant and the surgeon found that the cancer had spread. Due to the cancer spreading, this categorizes Jess' condition as Stage 4 Colon Cancer. She will have more scans and oncology appointments in the coming weeks and will begin chemotherapy early November.
Jess was released from the hospital 10/16 and is now home recovering from surgery. So far, her recovery has been remarkable! She is looking and feeling great and is ready to KICK CANCER'S BUTT, SUPA STYLE!!! If anyone can beat this nasty disease, it is our sweet, strong, positive and determined Jess! She's the strongest girl I know and she can do anything she puts her mind to.
Jess and Mike will be traveling out of state for a second opinion and possibly future treatments. Jess will also be out of work for quite some time. If you would like to make a monetary donation to help with the mounting travel and medical expenses it would be greatly appreciated. A mealtrain has also been set up to help Mike and Jess with dinner. If you are interested you can access the mealtrain here. Most importantly, they ask for your prayers as they travel down this unfamiliar road and face the challenges and accomplishments ahead.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." -Isaiah 40:31
