Kicked out on false accusations

Hello there! My name is Kayla, and my boyfriend and I are in danger of becoming homeless. My boyfriend and I have been living with his family for the past 2 years. His family has been emotionally, verbally, and at times physically abusive to him. This has caused him to suffer from severe anxiety and depression, as well as suicidal ideation. During the past two years, I’ve done my best to support him through his family’s abuse. His mother, who is incredibly controlling and emotionally manipulative, is now kicking us out at the end of the month.


She is kicking us out, because of an argument she had with my boyfriend on New Years Eve. During the argument, my boyfriend expressed his suicidal thoughts, and his mom lost it. She not only called the police on her son who was having a mental health crisis, she even lied to the police and claimed that he threatened her life. I was able to calm her down. She claimed that she called the police back and told them she made it up. However, she has now told us we have until the end of the month to find a new place to live.


Both my boyfriend and I lost our jobs at the start of the pandemic, and have been unemployed ever since. We also lost our car during the lockdown a few months ago. Since we don’t have reliable transportation, finding jobs has been incredibly difficult. There is no way that we will be able to find jobs and make enough money for an apartment before the end of the month.


We are asking for donations so that we can have enough money to sign a lease for an apartment, and hopefully purchase a cheap used car. We are a just low-income, POC couple trying to survive with our puppy! Anything you can do would help, whether its donating or sharing with your friends!
