<div>Welcome to the Kibera Slum Feeding Program, an initiative aimed at making a life-changing impact in one of Kenya's most challenging environments. The conditions in Kibera Slum are far removed from the standards of living most of us are accustomed to. Families, often large in size, struggle without basic access to clean water, proper nutrition, adequate living space, sanitation facilities, and even personal security.

<div>The slum's atmosphere is thick with the pollutants of human refuse, garbage, soot, dust, and various waste, resulting in a dangerous breeding ground for diseases including HIV/AIDS, malaria, typhoid fever, and cholera. Open sewage systems run through the streets, contaminating homes and streets alike with both human and animal waste.

<div>Alarming unemployment rates and extreme poverty have pushed over a million people into these dire circumstances. For many, essential healthcare is an unaffordable luxury, further exacerbating their challenges.

<div>Imagine a reality where children go without food. This is the harsh reality for the children of Kibera Slum. Some are even compelled to leave school in search of sustenance. That's where the Acts of Compassion team steps in. Our weekend feeding program will be a lifeline, ensuring these children receive meals outside of the school meal program. With schools closing from August and holidays approaching, a new crisis emerges. During these periods, these children face not only hunger but also increased risks on the streets, including violence, abuse and crime.
