Kiara's representing Australia!

Hi everyone

I'm Kiara Carlson - I'm 14 years old and attend Arndell Anglican College at Oakville in Sydney's North West. I am very proud to share with you all that I have been selected to play for Australia at the World Indoor Netball Association World Series 2017 in Johannesburg, South Africa. My positions are Goal Shooter and Goal Attack.

This is a very exciting time for me - it has always been my dream to play for Australia and this is about to become reality!

Unfortunately representing your country doesn't come cheap. My mum and pop have already spent over $8000 so they can support me in person. While I know my mum will do whatever it takes to get me over there, things like my school fees and the general cost of raising me makes this a tough ask and I want to do what I can to help mum out with the costs of my airfares, transfers, accommodation, sports trainers and tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies.

This dream has only come through hard work - I have been up against older girls to showcase my skills and have now represented New South Wales on three occasions. I train most nights to ensure I am always at the top of my game, including shooting up to 200 goals at a time. I play for a number of teams including U17s Division 1 and Ladies Division 2 in the Super League Indoor Netball Competition for Western Magic, as well as playing in the Monday night competition at Hills Indoor Sports in a Ladies Division 1 team.
