I would like to say thank you to all who supported me through prayer, materially, and financially before, during, and after my YWAM DTS October 2012 - March 2013. You have all been a huge part of getting me to where I am today, and I cannot express the length of my gratitude in my own strength. You helped me gain new perspective on life, people, and most of all, God. He was always a part of my life, but He is now the center of it. I learned how much He loves me as a daughter, a friend, and my King. Iʼve learned how prideful, disobedient, and, frankly, just how human I really am. Not only did I discover these things, but also how to combat them in my life.
My next journey will be to take that same aspect of growing in who I am in God, then applying what I learn so I can help others do the same thing: learn that life is a process and help them grow as individuals. I need to raise a total of $8,000 to cover costs of the program, this includes the lecture phase, outreach phase, and everything in between like shampoo and transportation, and airfare. I will be leaving September 18, 2013.
The school that I will be attending is called "The School of Foundations in Counseling Ministry" otherwise known as FCM. I will be going through training at a YWAM base in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Quoted from the website: "The school is oriented in the formation of counselors and leaders and for those who have a calling to work in mercy ministry and discipleship. Some of the topics and material to be covered are pastoral counseling, inner healing, deliverance, renewal of the mind, identity, emotional restoration, interpersonal relationships, the father heart of God, early childhood development, sexuality, homosexuality, abuse, violence, addictions, anorexia, AIDS, and more." (quoted from the website) I feel a strong calling to work with youth, but specifically with girls ages 11-18/young adult. I want to meet them where they are in life, wherever that is. I believe God would like me to be a part of FCM to prepare me for any and all situations that He will put me in. As you can see from reading what topics this school covers, I hope to be trained in a way that will help me help others who have gone through some difï¬cult things and come from challenging places. My life is not perfect, but I know that I have been blessed with this life and circumstances so that I can be blessing to others.
